Don’t miss an opportunity to participate in national and international science olympiads.
About the Program
The National Science Olympiads are organized in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology to encourage students attending high school (except for seniors) and 8th grade middle schoolers to engage in basic sciences, direct their studies, and contribute to their development in these fields.
8th grade middle schoolers can participate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology categories. National Middle School Science Olympiads are also organized for middle school students who want to take the exam in Mathematics and Computer Science sections. Students who achieve a certain level from the first stage exams are invited to the second stage exams held in Ankara by TÜBİTAK BİDEB. Moreover, in the summer months subsequent to the first stage exams, a Summer School Organization is arranged to prepare students for the second stage exams, where they will be trained by academics who are experts in their fields.
TÜBİTAK conducts the 2202 - Science Olympiads Program in accordance with the needs and priorities of our country, in order to create critically important and qualified human resources in basic and computer sciences. It is intended to encourage students to conduct work in these fields, to direct their studies, and to prepare them for the national and international olympiads. In this context, the Science Olympiad First Stage Exam is held in 81 cities, and in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (Nicosia), in Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Middle School Computer Science, and Middle School Mathematics.
Rules to be Followed
Students are obliged to follow the rules announced on our website before exams and training camps.
Our students have won 56 gold, 193 silver, 265 bronze medals and 50 honorary certificates since 1985 while representing Turkey in International Science Olympiads. We are proud of our students who gave pride to their country through the success they achieved in science.
Direct applications cannot be made to the International Science Olympiads. Successful students who are invited to the team selection exam after the National Science Olympiads participate in the International Science Olympiads to represent our country in the relevant category.
Students who succeed in the Science Olympiads at the national/international level are given medals, certificates of achievement, and cash prizes by TÜBITAK. Moreover, high school students benefit from an Additional Score and/or Examination-Free Pass in the university entrance exam (Please see the YKS Guide).
Students registered to the E-BİDEB System must add their own bank account to the system. If someone else's account information is entered into the system, students cannot receive payments they are due.

Letters from you
The most important aspect of the Science Olympiad efforts for me is to bring talented young people together with researchers, to study science in Turkey, and to convey the quality of life that can be spent with research. Success in the Science Olympiad exams is not stupendously significant in the long run. But students who prepare for the Science Olympiad with enthusiasm often find that they are talented enough to earn a living by researching this topic. That's how you can decide whether you would like to be a scientist, by looking at how much you enjoy the subjects you learned, rather than what results you achieved in the exams. Good luck!
